Independent Vs. Traditional

Independent learning is a new learning system that is being adapted by most of the schools in the country. This is not all that similar to the traditional learning we know and  use from kindergarten through elementary.

Independent learning is simply learning independently. The students will no longer be spoon-fed by the teacher and they will have to learn how to learn on their own. The students will no longer rely on others, but instead rely on themselves and carry their own weight. Traditional learning is an easier way of learning. The students depend on the teacher to explain this and that to them. All that is needed of them is to listen because everything is handed to them on a silver platter. This system has made most of the students lazy. They do not try to discover and understand things on their own. The two systems are different in a lot of ways, these are only a few.

People think that teachers are no longer needed in the Independent Learning System. That is actually wrong. Just like the traditional learning system, teachers are also present. But instead of spoon-feeding the student, they only guide them. Students learn something in the end from both system. It does not matter which one. They both benefit the student in some way. Through, independent learning, they learn how to be independent and learn on their own. Through traditional learning, they can enhance their listening and processing skills.

Both of these are effective learning systems, and we need them. They may have differences and similarities, but in the end, the student will learn something, and that is what should matter.
